Dana Air will on Friday (tomorrow) resume flight operations, approximately seven months and one day after the airline was involved in a fatal crash in Lagos on June 3, leading to the death of 163 people.
The Head, Corporate Communications, Dana, Mr. Tony Usidamen, who confirmed the development on Wednesday, said the resumption came after necessary approval was received from the Federal Government.

The Federal Government said that the current electricity generation in the country had reached 4,502 megawatts, the highest in recent time.
The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, made this known on Monday at a news conference on the achievements of government in 2012, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
According to him, electricity generation is expected to move up to 7,000 megawatts in 2013.
“At the moment, there is an average of about 15 to 18 hours per day of constant power supply to different parts of the country.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation, Chief Hope Uzodinma on Thursday said the Nigerian aviation sector should operate in line with international standards.
Uzodinma said this when the committee visited the International Air Cargoes in Ilorin as part of the committee’s oversight function.
The lawmakers said He said the committee was saddened by frequent air crashes in the country.

Chairman of the committee, Rep. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha (PDP, Abia), who disclosed this in a statement yesterday, expressed shock over the Saturday crash.
“We will leave no stone unturned towards ensuring air safety in Nigeria by strengthening our oversight functions of the relevant regulatory agencies in the aviation sector,” she said.

The website, created by the Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation is to help mobilise funds from Nigerians all over the world.
